You feel the pinch in the wallet too?
Should I change the sig line to this:
Unleaded = LOL Unleaded Plus = OMG Superunleaded = WT?

"Superunleaded = Screw it, ride the Calfee! " yup yup yup. That's what I've been doing, but I picked up a '92 RB-1 with original components and the ride of this steel is something else. Been riding it and all I can say is "WOW".

Yeah, Bridgestone made some pretty nice bikes. Too bad they're no longer imported. Try and locate some of the newsletters that was sent to original owners (BOB [Bridgestone Owners Bunch]). They're a pretty interesting read. If I can find any of mine, I'll let you know. ...I haven't seen them in a long time and I might have thrown them out.
I've been using my Moser to commute to school and that thing turns VERY quick. It's got crit geometry of the time. Not a lot of acceleration but turn in is fast. ...Gotta pay attention! The brakes suck too so you gotta pay extra attention and anticipate more.

RIde a fixie and it'll enhance your attention and anticipation when riding. You pretty much think way ahead of time maybe because you have to deal with the legs not being able to coast.
Do you have any good source of Bridgestone catalogs? I have a 1994 already and would really love to have the '92 one.

Sorry bud, no hardcopies that I know of. Sheldon Brown has a virtual library of catalogs, BOBs... www.sheldonbrown.com/bridgestone/
You can have eBay email you when one comes available for auction.

Hey Superunleaded,
Check out the '92 Bridgestone catalog (in pdf format) on Brown's site. The header for the RB-1 says "The proven, long lasting alternative to carbon-fiber"!!

Hey Superunleaded,
"The proven, long lasting alternative to carbon-fiber"!!
Sweeeet. It is really stiff.
I wonder if they really made 1600 of the '92's only from this ad: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/bridgestone/images/PineappleBobad.jpg

Few hundred. Tops. Old mass produced steel frames just ain't worth too much. Heck, it's hard enough to sell a pristine, hand made, carved lugs, chromed, Italian frame. Looks like brand new tires though :-)
I do wonder how he got a 9 speed in that frame though? Cold set the rear stays? Also, did he tie the spokes because it's an older 28 spoke rim? When did Shimano D/A come out with 28 hole hole hubs?
I think the frame is too big for you though. Looks like something around 57-58cm? Is that what you ride?
But if you like it, make an offer for $300. JMHO. ...or am I waaaay off base? I think it would actually be worth more if it were original. Or if he at least had all the original parts in a box.

Not mine. Too tall for me. It's a 59cm c to top of toptube. I'm not sure if all parts are original. http://monch.rjpayomo.com/RB1/RB1all.JPG
Rear axle was tweaked to fit a 9sp. I know the guy who owns it and he was asking me how is he going to price it. He's getting offers of about 3bills for frame and fork but he wants to sell the whole setup.
I don't know when did Shimano came out with 28H on their hubs?
Here's mine: http://monch.rjpayomo.com/1992RB-1.JPG

I found the ad on craigslist. Sorry, I think if he won't take anything less than $750, he won't be selling it. I realize he probably just wants his out of pocket expenses covered, but in order to do that, you gotta find somebody who wants that exact same bike built exactly that same way. ...and wants to complete the job.

I'll check with him if he wants to lower his price. Should I advice him to maybe price it at around 5bills? I really don't know how to price that set up since I got mine for a buck sixty.

That sounds ok. He should throw in as many old parts as possible though. Serves two purposes: gets rid of crap in his garage that he doesn't need and increases the perceived value of the transaction. The new owner can then rid the parts on eBay or Craigslist and get some return.
I got you beat on the steel. I got my Moser for free! It just cost me gas from SJ to Danville. My friend was gonna give it to Goodwill and I stopped her in time. Whew!
