Like you, it's not a 'need', more of a thought. They indicated if I ship the frame to them, they can forward it to Dario who will refinish it and return it to me via Gita. Not a quick process, and not much cheaper than having the work done closer to home. Domestic options that are approved by Dario include Spectrum and JB and others that escape my memory.
