Wow...I might have guessed a lot of cities but not yours. That was one reason why I was so curious. It is interesting that some of the state capitals are having similar problems. Although it may have changed when I was in Albany a ways back it was much the same.

Hi Folks,
Just to keep you all up to date (as if any really cares) I found out why I don't have my bike back yet. The painter screwed up the decals three times in a row now. Looks like my bike won't get shipped until Friday now.

The good news is they told you the truth. I hate it when something is held up and you get BS, know it is BS, they know you know it is and it continues. I'd much prefer being told there was a mistake. That I can accept since I make so many myself.

I agree, Lon. I also asked my LBS guy to talk to Craig to let him know I understand the situation and am patiently waiting (when actually I am really antsy now since I don't have a rideable bike to use )

Good news I'm getting my bike back pretty soon. It should be finished up the middle of next week. Add about a week to ship. It is already fixed. Now it waits for finish. Hope they get it right the first time.
I have a training camp from March 10-12 so I'll have it back and built well before then. I'm really happy. I thought it would be like another month from now if not more.
FYI I had to replace the seatpost too, which not surprisingly failed. I got an Easton EC 90 Zero Offset. Very light, should be good.
Insight I'm sorry for your troubles. I used to live in DC and it was full of that same kind of bs. One time someone did $300 worth of damage to my car to steal a helmet that cost $40 new. Tons of punks. Drugs. Prostitution. On the bright side I never had a bike stolen, not that they didn't try to break into the house and steal it. They did.

Hi Fly, and everyone,
Fly, good deal for you. You are not the only happy camper as a result of the great repair work Calfee is able to do on carbon fiber frames. I got an update today and it says my frame should ship Monday or Tuesday.
On the home front, life goes on. I am a lot more paranoid now. I keep the balcony light on at night, with the screen locked and the sliding glass door open a couple of inches so I might hear anything at night. I've bolted up more than once now, hearing a bump or car engine. One thing I do understand, though, as most thieves know, it's only a matter of time; wait until complacency sets in, and then go back to see what else can be lifted.
I am antsy about my bike. I want to be back into riding.

Unfortunately, I am still waiting for my frame! Craig had it fixed in a week. It's been at the painter's since and it still isn't finished.

I should have mine back pretty soon so that is happy news. Hopefully in a week or maybe a tad less. I'll run to the shop and get them to drop in a headset and slap the rest of it together and take it for a spin. Have a long ride planned too...now I need some tires, though!

I asked Calfee to get this thing back to me in short order because I have training camp on March 10-12 and a race a couple weeks after that and training races have already started. So I really appreciate them turning it around so quickly. I think they might have bumped Insight's bike in favor of me...so thanks for your patience Insight and I promise to pay it forward somehow.

Hi Fly,
I got my update last night and the latest is that the painter and Dean both got decals that are correct for my bike. They went on this Friday morning, the bike will get it's final clear coat and likely will ship Monday morning. I doubt the problems with gettting my bike finished held up your bike, though. Apparently it was a problem specific to getting my bike done.

Well it sounds like they just worked it in then, I'm suppossed to get the bike Thursday, will take off work and get it assembled. Going to do a long ride in the mountains on Saturday and want to have a commute on it to tweak anything.

I heard the shop got it on Monday. I went over today and saw my frame being built up. I hope to be able to ride it tomorrow, possibly.

My shop is still working on my bike. I was hoping to pick it up today but I am unable to get up there. I am planning to go the handmade bike show in San Jose on Sunday, though.
Cheers and enjoy your sweet ride.
