2007 Soloist Carbon II - Holy Smokes!! new
#7548 - 03/18/06 03:50 AM (206.126.9.159)

Check this out: The 2007 SLCII complete with new aerodynamic A-stays (gone with that codgy mono stay), slightly shortened and tuned chainstays, new redesigned aerodynamic seatube, and refined graphics. The resuting improvements add no addtional weight to this superlight UCI legal frame. The new radial seatstays add greatly improved vertical compliance to the 2006 model's already comfortable ride and give team riders the ability to tackle the cobbles of Belgium with the same effortless ease and sure-footed rear wheel traction as the R3.

The newly redesigned seat tube brings the rear wheel closer to the frame and provides more efficient airflow around the rear wheel. The energy saved here can be measured in watts.

New CSC team graphics have been refined from last year with a slightly smaller downtube logo and diagonal panel striping that compliment the racy lines of the top tube and seat tube graphics. IMO this gives the frame a more balanced and sexy appearance.

I don't know about you guys, but I like it, even though it's a fake and posted only to show one person's crazy idea of what such a frame could look like. Keep in mind too I've never actually ridden an SLC, so when it comes to suggesting improvements, I admit I'm really talking out my rear end. It's more likely the existing frame doesn't require any engineering improvements. Visually however, that's another story as I find the SLC a bit chunky looking. If anything this little pic is something Cervelo is welcome to take back to the office and consider!
