greeting fellow cycling enthusiasts. I had taken a good ride on my new steed on Monday, riding about 22 miles. The return trip was into a strong headwind with some strong gusts. Although I wear cycling glasses apparently something got into my eye. I will be seeing an opthomalagist tomorrow, having seen my general physician today. My eye is painful and irritated. Apparently I have an infection in my eye. This is the only time in my entire life that I ever had an eye infection. I don't know definitavely that it was the bike ride. I onlly know that I had what I thought was a low-grade headache the next morning. I happened to touch my eye and found it was sore. Two days later (this morning), I was woken by eye pain.
I'll find out more tomorrow. Has anyone else a cycling-related injury anything like this?

Nope. Never. I have had plenty of bugs hit my glasses, especially riding in the dark (usually before work.) But I know a guy who won't wear glasses and I think he's nuts. Took him out for a morning pre-dawn ride, and wouldn't even take a pair of clear glasses I offered him.
!*THREAD HIJACK*!
Confession: I haven't ridden more than two miles in almost 2 weeks. Saturday I'm going to the track...

I went to my doctor then to an opthamologist. I have just an irritation of the eye caled episcleritis. It had nothing to do with my ride. In fact for 70% of people, the cause is totally unknown.
