half the fun...... new
#583 - 01/10/04 11:58 AM (152.163.252.101)

Half the fun of my new calfee is setting her up. With the help of this board I have solved the pump dilemna. Will be carrying co2 and mini pump. With the assist of forum member, Lon, the Bottle cage scare of 2003 has been solved. My next project is new pedals. have a generic pair of pedals that just have to go. Use Sidi MTB shoes. Need a pedal that will fit these. Believe I have narrowed it down to two choices:

A speedplay pedal or a Time ATAC pedal. I know the time ATAC will fit and believe the Speedplay frog will fit. Want to keep the price below the $100 mark.

Now if the weather would just warm up.

Waiting for the Calfee was just bottled up energy. setting her up to my needs is just half the FUN...Thanks for listening.

If you are using MTB shoes, consider the Crank Brothers Eggbeaters, they are great.

My wife uses Frogs with her Sidi MTB shoes, and I use the same combo when on our tandem.

I had to use a Dremel Tool to make a little room for my Frog Cleats on my Sidi Mt. Shoes. However since another person had no problem it could be since mine are an older model. I don't use them all that much just when I ride my mountain bike.

Take care.

I have Frog and SIDI MTB shoes for my D'fly. I want to walk and ride since I'm a tourist and not a racer.
Quite smooth and convenient if occasionally it is maintained with silicone lube.
Have a fun.

I like my Bebops. I think it's time for new cleats.

Hey!

Just wanted to let you know that I use SIDI Genious (MTB) shoes on my Calfee D'Fly with Egg Beaters and I've been really happy. The whole combination is very effective, simple and low maint. PLUS, as added nebefits, you get the low-profile attachment to your pedals, you can easily switch back & forth between your mountain bike (if you have one) and the SIDIs are easy to walk around on when you don't have huge cleats on the bottoms.

Happy trails!

-Andrew
