Has anyone ridden the Easton EC90 SL or SLX fork? I want to upgrade the fork on one of my bikes and have been looking at these.
Anyone have good things to say about other brands in the same category?
Thanks!

I have 2 SL's pre nano-tube. I like them very much.
I got them on Craig's recommendation. At the time he was having trouble with some other forks being in spec (he checks them all himself before he uses them)and not one Easton had a problem to that point. I would suspect with the nano-tube they are better yet. That isn't marketing hype that is real technology that works.
You could call him. Usually late in the day EST is best I've found. Or drop him an e-mail. I assume you would get it refinished to match your bike anyhow so why not buy through him?
Take care.

I got one to replace the trashed Alpha Q when my D-fly was repaired. It is sublime. It weighns next to nothing. It is a real trip-you pick it up and can't belive it. And it doesn't require an expansion plus so that saves yet more weight. You use this headset adjuster and just a little plug to keep the rain out.
It is rather aero too. And it is snappy handling wise. The best fork I've ever had, hands down. And I liked the Alpha Q, although that thing was nowhere near its claimed weight. The carbon tips on the EC90 SLX are great too, very strong. A real great upgrade to make.
The ride quality is good. It damps bad vibes. Very responsive.

Well, I've had the SLX on my Tetra Pro for a few weeks now. Gotta say this is one nice fork. I just finished the season's first century ride. Loved every minute of it. It is 160 grams lighter than the old fork. That dropped the total weight of the bike below 17 pounds. Not bad for a 64cm frame!
I can see more flex in the curved blades compared to the straight bladed, Calfee branded Alpha Q it replaced.
The bear trap didn't work for me. The stem (FSA OS 115) would always come loose. Instead of tightening the bolts beyond spec, I bought a compression plug. No problems since.

I put over one thousand miles on my original Calfee with an Easton EC90 SLX fork on it. I had no problems whatsoever with the fork. As far as I am concerned the quality of the fork is without reproach.

My shop didn't even consider using the bear trap. They are a huge fan of FSA Plugs and they aren't fans of FSA particularly. The Easton comes in a straight model. That is what I have for no particular reason.
