I passed 1000 miles on my Calfee since I got her back in March. Does anyone else keep track of such milestones? I'm looking forward to my next one, which will be 2000 miles.

I used to. But I quit about 20,000 miles ago.
I may start up again because I upgraded to Campy 10 speed this year and want to better track some wear. ...but I know I'll quit tracking (again) in a few thousand miles.

I never had a bike with a computer on it when I was young and by the time I started getting bikes with computers I never had one long enough to put more than a couple of thousand miles on it.

I remember my first thousand miles years ago, but I think my biggest personal milestone has to be accomplishing my first century ride. I was 60, into biking slightly less than a year, and had crashed near the start of the ride breaking 2 ribs. I had trained too hard for this ride and so continued on. The ride was the STP, Seattle to Portland, so I finished two centuries, back-to-back, and at the end had to go the emergency room to have my ribs looked at.

Dave,
Thanks for posting. That is great information. You pushed hard and met the goal you put for yourself. That is the mark of a true hero.

Lot's of carnage on STP. Riders beware.
I've done the one day thrice.

Oh yeah, riding with 8,000 of your closest friends on Seattle streets.
