I'm considering getting a calfee, but I'm a little worried about the posted weight limits. I'm about 240 on a usual day, and loaded up with all my commute stuff I must go 260 anyway. I'm worried that calfee's are only for all you thin guys; I think the weight limit I saw posted was 210 or so. Does anyone have any recommendations about this?

There is an option for a stiffer frame. You might want to talk with Craig Calfee. If anyone could answer a question about how much weight a frame could handle, it would be him.

I've not seen weight limits posted for single frames.
If you order a frame, there is a question on the form about your weight.Calfee will then decide which tubeset and whether or not to wrap or further stiffen the frame.since they also make tandems, have no doubt that they can build a frame stiff enough for your needs,

Yes, Calfees are made to order. He will stiffen them appropriately for you if you let your LBS know how much weight will be on the bike.

Calfee bikes are in no way made for thin riders. The earliest frames made by Craig were for racers which are powerful riders and we all know how they punish their equipment in races. Also I would say that carbon fiber bikes in now way or shape or form have a reputation for being fragile. For a big rider the bigger fear would be for wheels since many of the lighter wheel sets do have published weight limits on them.
I'm certain if you call Calfee Design you will get correct information on your options, including reassurance that a frame that may be stock would be plenty strong enough for your weight.

I put at least 4000 miles on my Tetra Pro weighing between 260 and 280 (that was just me... nothing else ). I had no problems whatsoever.
Now at 225 and dropping it's still a pleasure to ride. The only problem is SWMBO has decreed that I may get ANY bike I wish when I reach 180... and I'm not sure I want another bike!

I don't know if it is possible to get a bike you'll like more than your Calfee Tetra Pro. I don't think they get any better, do they?
