I've been doing a lot of shopping and looking around. Specialized Roubaix, Serotta, and other normal names. I was shown a Calfee as an option and so far like what I see and read. Any thoughts/guidance, specifically around the Luna and Tetra and Luna?
Purpose of the bike, riding, road riding, long riding and maybe a few races/triathlons...and simply getting something nice that I can enjoy for a long time.

Welcome Markee. I would check out this recent thread where most folks here chimed in on what they think about a used Calfee as compared to a new Trek.

Both the Luna and Tetra models are top notch and should you go with either one I suspect you will be more than pleased. The frames last forever, they are light, of outstanding quality and backed by a first-class american company.

I have just gone through the same process you are now going through right now. What I was looking for in a road bike was all day riding comfort, an enjoyable ride and a good performer.
Early in my research I was convinced that I wanted a Litespeed Tuscany. I had heard that titanium was good at dampining road vibration. So, I rode one and thought it was a nice bike. Then I decided to try a carbon fiber bike since I had never even sat on one. I went to my local bike shop to do an A and B comparison. First I rode a $6,000 Serotta made from titanium. The Serrota is very easy on the eyes and rode better than the Litepeed Tuscany--for $6,000 it should ride better. Then I rode a Calfee Luna Pro priced at around $3,000. I was absolutely blown away by the ride quality of the Calfee. The Serotta was not even close. I then thought, well maybe it was the carbon fiber that was making the difference. I tried several more all carbon fiber bikes including a Felt, a Trek 5.2 and a Trek 5.9 Madone. All nice bikes but they just didn't feel like the Calfee.
I am absolutely sold on the ride, quality and performance of Calfee bikes. I have no experience with the Tetra or the Dragonfly, but I have heard that all Calfee bikes ride very similar.

I am a happy Calfee owner. A little background: recreational rider for most of my life (age 53 now). I got a custom Calfee Tetra Pro a bit over a year ago. Fit for my body and it's characteristics and it rode very nice (past tense here because it was stolen approximately six months after I got it).
For a replacement bike no other brand or model of bike even entered my mind. I wanted a new Calfee. I had re-thought some of the geometry tradeoffs I had on my previous bike and repurposed it a bit. I have pics of my bike in the gallery showing that I have a rear rack on it. I like riding faster and farther each time I ride my bike. The feel of the bike, as you have found, is excellent. It's easy to forget it's made of carbon fiber because the bike is stiff, responsive, properly balanced and feels good carving turns.

The Calfee Luna is an awesome bike. The key to Craig is all his bikes are designed to handle and ride the same. The difference is weight and construction. (The Luna uses lugs and the Tetra hand wraps which costs more.) You can't go wrong with a Calfee and it is nice to have something different as well. I have two and I'm very happy.
If you go to his site there is still a link (I think) to the original forum called the Phorum. There were a number of threads on happy owners.

Thanks for the information. I've tried the Specialized Roubaix Pro and Serrota. The dealer pointed me towards the Serrota or Calfee. I have yet to ride one but will be doing so this week.
