I bought a Merckx Race in November. I had been looking at various bikes for months and I was also trying to decide what size to buy within a few different brands. I "crunched" numbers all the time. I determined that the Merckx geometry was a good fit and bought a 58. I *thought* the TT was 57.3 as that was what was posted on Gita's site, Competitive Cyclist's site and at GVH were I bought the bike. However, as of this month, Gita has posted "new" numbers and the TT number now says 58.3, not 57.3 as I thought. Well, I measured and it is a 58.3! I thought it felt a little long (but it still works as I went with a shorter stem)! I spoke to Gary at GVH and the MX Leader he has in stock has a 57.3 TT, but the Team SC has a 58.3. I don't know if this has happened with other sizes, but it appears somewhere along the line, Merckx actually changed the geometry on the 58.
OK, that's my conspiracy theory for the day.....

BubbaTex,
If that's true it means a 58cm Team SC will fit me since with my short femurs and the bike's shallow seat tube angle, I can position my saddle a little more forward and still have the correct amount of reach. Hmm...

'tis true Kahuna! Merckx's homepage verifies it. Now you have something else to buy!
