I just found this website thanks to my friend the Capn. Anyway I also am a proud owner of 2 IF Ti bikes. Last summer I bought a TiDeluxe, I felt a need to reform because I had been riding the world's nicest FSxcrace bikes and I thought they were only half ass. So I am a reformed fs racer/rider. I love my TiDeluxe it is the sweetest of all rides. I love my Deluxe so much that I couldn't bear to look at my Felt F-15R road bike anymore It just didn't seem right. So of course I had to buy a Ti Crown Jewell, it's beautiful and very easily the best looking road bike ever built, seriously. Anyway, I love my bikes and the guys at IF are the best in the industry. I love to talk about these bikes, so if you have any questions just shoot them my way.

Jake is THE man.. How's the ACL? We need to put some miles on the CJ's ASAP.. I really can't understand why IF doesn't have a larger following than they do. I mean, they build what has to be considered one of the nicest steel or titanium framesets on earth. I think that they are so rare that even the high-end custom buyer is unaware of these wonderful frames. Part of the solution is to sing the praises of our favorite builder in places like this forum thanks, Kahuna great place to be.... Posted more IF pics in my gallery.... Ron

I'm currently in no position to get either bike but I know a Ti road frame is in my future. There's something about IF as a company that I really like. However, I'm very partial to the aesthetics of the Moots Ti frame. Something about the finish and the understated decals really does it for me.
I know you're a dedicated IF fan but in your opinion, what really differentiates a Ti road frame from IF or Moots?

I posted some pics of both my bikes. Lots of angles. You know I can't really pretend to be an expert on Moots as a company. I'm not sure what kind of Ti they use to build their frames, but I know that IF and Seven use a premium brand. Check their websites to see the brand names I can't remember. The other reason I went with the IF's is because of their custom program, and customer service. You should just call them up sometime and talk to Matt or Joe 6176663609 and you'll know exactly why I chose them. I had never really considered Moots, but just Seven and IF. I figured that if you're going to spend soo much money for a frame it better be built exactly how you want it. As far as colors are concerned IF offers many options, and decals. Some which would be very understated if applied to a naked Ti frame.

When I was looking for a Ti road frame I had an opportunity to ride a Moots VaMoots Compact, new w/new DA 10-speed, A Seven Axiom and a IF Crown Jewel Ti Compact. All beautiful bikes from top builders. I loved the Motts, the ride, the finish, welds everything was great. Then I came back to the shop and rode the IF. Hands down, the ride, which was the most important thing for me, was simply much more comfortable. Not to say that Moots couldn't alter their tubes diameter etc. and come up with a similar ride but I was blown away by the IF, oh yea, the welds, paint job and everything else about the IF Crown Jewel Ti Compact I ended up getting is nothing short of fantastic! You will never regret working with the people at IF and ordering an IF Crown Jewel Ti, good luck.

I have to agree with the above posters. I have owned a Seven Axiom and now my Crown Jewel but never a Moots. I not only believe in the ride quality, constuction, looks of the frame but I have a thing for a company too. Moots is one of the originals they have great customer service and an outstanding working knowledge of titianium.. That said IF is the direct descendant of Fat City Cycles.. FAT CHANCE what more is there to say... I do have Moots ti posts on both of my ti IF's but I would never own another frame in lew of my IFs'. You really can't go wrong at the level with any of these companies but don't discount the customization and knowledge of framebuilding that IF, Seven or Serotta can provide. I question the company that says that their stock sizes fit as well as a custom ride. The key is CUSTOM RIDE... not bike but the entire ride, fit, ride quality and aesthetics are what you pay for... Choose wisely. Have fun..

I've got an IF planet X and it's hands down my favorite bike. Maybe one day I'll be able to get a Ti Crown Jewel. Hooked a friend of mine up with IF and had got a steel crown jewel and simply loves it!

Does anyone else own or know of someone who owns a 29" Ti Deluxe. I think I got the first one made by IF and love it. The reason I think it was the first built was that all of the dimensions for the bike were for 29" (700C) except for the rear triangle. This seemed to be made for a standard 26" frame.

Is your Planet X Ti? I have one on order that is Ti with disc only brakes. Any pictures of your Planet X? I haven't seen or heard of many Ti Planet X bikes. The only one I have seen a picture of was owned by some guy in the Netherlands. No Planet X Ti bikes with paint either. Mine will be painted 3/4 Pearl Orange with reverse panels. I still have about 3 more weeks before my frame arrives and them I will be building it up. I will be posting pictures as it progresses.
