Yup. But I already have one of those! I forwarded the link to some friends who may be in the market.

I just bought a used bike and I paid a lot more. So, either I paid too much or this is a great deal.

Bruce, I consider a full Calfee bike decked with DA for less than a grand a good deal. And I'm sure many would agree to that.

They're popping up on CL and Ebay for about 425-650 with mixed components. Offer the guy 250 maybe and if you don't like it, you can always list it on CL and I'm sure you'll get your $ back.

I spend a lot of time looking for a used Calfee before I bought mine. I not only looked at bikes in my size but any size just to get an idea of what they were selling for. I did not see any complete bikes priced priced at under $1,000. Mostly what I was finding were used frames; and at the price the frames were listed on Ebay, I would have spent at least $2,000 by the time the bike was built.
I paid $1,850 for a basically a new Luna Pro with full Campy Record componets and I thought that I did well considering what a new one would have cost me a lot more.
If I had found a new Tetra Pro for under $1,000, I don't think I could have written the check fast enough; and I would have bought the bike even if it was priced at $2,000.
Maybe I am uninformed and paid too much, but I don't think so.

Bruce, the above quote for $425-650 is referring to a Vitus Aluminum bike I am contemplating.
A Calfee for $900 is insanely cheap and I'd be very careful when examining that one. A Calfee in the $2k+ range is more the norm. You didn't over pay if the bike you purchased is in decent shape, the right size, and components are in good condition. Ain't no freebies. You get what you pay for, mostly.
Bikes are not like computers where they get cheaper by the minute. Nor are they commodities. Just enjoy your ride and never mind what you paid for it. If it makes you happy and you ride a lot, then the money was well spent.

I thought you were talking about a used Calfee in the $425-650 range. I must have missed something.
Yes, I am very happy with my used Calfee. I do agree that you mostly get what you pay for. My decision to purchase a Calfee was more emotional than logical. So I could have ended up paying too much. I do appreciate your opinion which supports what I already thought. Any used Calfee under $2000, in reasonable condition, is probably a good deal.

Sorry about that Bruce.
This is where that noodle came from: http://www.bikefanclub.com/forum/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/7942/page/0/view/collapsed/sb/5/o/all/fpart/1
I agree with you guys, a full Calfee bike below 2k is a good one as long as you can ride with what is already on the bike. Because changing components to your riding style will add up to the overall cost. But since you bought the frame and built it up to your liking, I think you are ahead.
