Hello, I recently sold my CoMotion Supremo tandem to get a tandem with the S&S couplings. We want to start traveling more with the bike. I am considering purchasing a CoMotion Supremo CoPilot. However I am drooling over the new Calfee Tetra with the lateral less design with the S&S couplings. I have never ridden a Calfee. We loved our CoMotion. Has anyone on this post ridden a CoMotion and a Calfee tandem, and what are your thoughts? I understand that this is a Calfee fan club site and remarks might be biased but any thoughts would be appreciated. Tim

Tim,
My wife and I test rode CoMotion and Santana tandems before purchasing a Tetra with S&S couplers. Ours is a few years old, so it has the lateral tube. I have a friend who has ridden both types of Calfees, he says that they ride simlarly.
The Tetra provided a significantly more plush ride than the other bikes, but did not seem at all "flexy". The handling of the Tetra is quicker than the Santana, similar to the CoMotion. For us, it came down to comfort...The Calfee was a more forgiving ride.
Let me know if you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to offer an opinion.

Mike, Thanks for your input. I have heard great things about the Calfee Tetra tandem. I think that it might just come down to whether I can rationalize the extra $$ for the Calfee. Thanks again, Tim
