How does the ride of a Dragonfly compare to a Luna? I asking this as a rider who currently rides a Luna but has not quite "bonded" with the bike. It's very comfortable but just doesn't have the acceleration I'm used too with my Seven Axiom Ti. The downside of the Seven is it's too stiff for my weight and it's a very uncomfortable bike on bumpy roads, espically desending. Calfee is much better desender. I do prefer the Seven for climbing. I'm trying to find the best of both in one bike.

I am of the belief that the wheels and components on a frame have a bigger influence on the feel of the bike than the frame itself. Things I think that make a bike feel very different when you change them are crank length for one. Wheel weight and stiffness are another. The tires you run and pressures you pump them to, as well, make a very noticeable difference in the feel of the ride.
Note carefully those differences between your bikes by looking at the differences in components and wheels. In there, I believe, you will find the true differences in the feel between your bikes.
Assuming the same geometry, a dragonfly will feel no different than a luna. What you get is a difference in the zoot of the material. Tubes in the dragonfly are more expensive and stronger per ounce than those in the luna. The differences in material pale in the differences of geometry of two bikes of that caliber.
Of course, if you have the cash, then buy yourself a dragonfly. Whether you bond with it or not is up to you. Is it possible, and I speculate here, that you actually have a bit of tech envy?

I guess I have tech envy! I can think of no other logical reason why I want a Dragonfly. To me high-end bicycles and Harley Davidsons are jewelry on two wheels. Maybe I need treatment.

hurry up so you can tell us about the ride. I've been thinking about another Calfee lately. The standard geo DFly frameset seems reasonably priced.

I have some questions,but maybe no answers:::
Was either frame built for you or were they customs for other people or were they stock frames? There is a place on the Calfee order form to list your weight.Maybe the Calfee was built for a Lighter rider?
Further,there is an option for extrastiff and superstiff tubesets,depending on the riders weight and preference.I suspect frames could also be softened for featherweights.
Lastly,and maybe more useful,I think Calfee can wrap the BB area of your Luna and beef it up down there.I assume it means a refinish but I would talk to Calfee and see.
As far as ride feel,I've heard that all the frames feel quite similar,but the D'fly may be slightly more "metallic" feeling.
I dunno,never rode a D'fly.
