Just bought a 2001 LT and have a question...
#8611 - 02/15/07 10:27 PM (65.80.75.20)

The rear derailleur hanger is bolted to the frame with 2 hex bolts. I can't recall seeing that on another Calfee frame. This is a frame that reportedly is new and never ridden. Is that original spec? I did send an PM to Craig.

Got that question answered. Duh, replaceable hanger.

For the build, will I need 27.2 seatpost? What size for the FD? Thanks.

Not sure what an "LT" is but typical Calfees use 27.2 seat posts and 35MM d?railleur clamps. Note: the carbon sleeve must be used underneath the d?railleur clamp. If there isn't one on your bike, contact Calfee before you install the d?railleur.

Yes Luna Tri. I had a 60 Tetra Pro that just did not work as a Tri bike. Craig thought a 58 LT should do the trick. Paid $500. Quite the deal.

Thanks for the clamp and seatpost info.

Where did you find the used Calfee? One of these days I want to upgrade from my 60cm Luna to a Tetra Pro with a head tube extension.

I used the Favorite Search function with ebay. You get an automatic email whenever the particular item shows itself for auction. Its been years since a 58 Calfee Luna/Tetra Tri showed up new with a 2 cm HT extention. It was worth the wait.

Ride report: I would have bet the house that the Luna would not perform as well as my Softride in a flat TT. The hard data will still need to accumulate but one TT and the general ride impression has me wanting to pull that bet off the table. Part of nearly every ride contains a relatively flat 7 mile section I often TT. I have done this section hundreds of times. Into a 15-20 mph headwind and with training wheels I was in the same gear I used in setting a bike PR in a 1/2IM. Can't wait to get the H3's on and give it a go on a more optimal day. Its not an apples to apples comparision though. The set-up is different. I'm more fwd on the Luna by 3.8 cm and more aero with a greater seat to pads drop.
