A few months ago I swapped out my double for a Campy triple. Now I notice that the bike creeks like an old boat on steep climbs. I didn't notice it with my double but I wasn't climbing very much then. The sound is probably coming from the bottom bracket but it is hard to isolate. The sound stops when I quit pedaling.
Any ideas?

Did you, or did your LBS install the triple components. If it was your LBS, take it to them. It may be something as simple as loose bottom bracket cups, crank arm/s, chain rings or pedals and they can diagnose and fix easily.
Often though, sounds that sound like they are coming from a source can be emanating elsewhere and tough to chase down.

It was my local bike shop that installed it. I will take it back to them and have them adjust it.

If the bottom bracket does not fix it...if you have skewers like a Salsa it could be the skewer believe it or not. I had a similar sound driving me nuts. A great old time bike guy isolated it to the skewers and put grease between it and the dropout...gone only to return as more grease was needed.
Good luck.

You might also check the headset. Last year I had a what I could have sworn was a creaky bottom bracket, but as it turned out, the headset had just loosened up some. Creaks drive me absolutely nuts.

Thanks to all that replied.
I am dropping off my bike at the shop tomorrow and will have them check out the bottom bracket, headset and skewers.
I agree, creeking sounds are very annoying.

It was my headset when I first built the bike. The only thing I had my LBS do was install the headset, I built the rest. The headset had to be pulled greased and re-installed.

I noticed the creeking sound again on my daily ride. The headset is probably a more likely candidate than the bottom bracket. When I shake the bars from side to side, the sound gets louder.
My bike shop is closed on Mondays or I would have taken it in today.
