Anyone here ever had a Campagnolo bottom bracket width issue with an older Calfee frame? I remember a past thread about a Shimano bottom bracket being used but I am needing advice on a Campy setup.
The frame has Italian threading (1998?)/ I am using a 2006 Record bottom bracket (102mm square taper) and a 2006 Record carbon crankset.
If I shim the right side out, will there be enough spindle left on the left side to clear? What is the maximum you can shim the bottom bracket?
Thanks in advance.

I have shimmed as much as 2mm in the past.I have not, however, used the setup you are describing.
If the crankset is on the bike now,you can use a 2mm allen to see if it clears between the left crankarm and the chain stay.If so,shim away.If not,and you need the right crank moved to the right, you must get a longer spindle. If you cannot find a Campy to suit, you can get a Phil Wood in any imaginable length.Note that the taper needs to be ISO,not the Japanese JIS.

Thanks Dan. I found out that there is not enough clearance on the left side to shim the right side over. It looks like a Phil Wood bottom bracket is the only solution.
