This board is way too quiet. It's like visiting a small library.

Hopefully traffic will increase new [Re: Insightdriver]
#9203 - 10/01/07 01:46 PM (70.111.175.5)

Large sites like BikeForums.net that used to be very good have been purchased by other investors and have not been as informational. The type of enthusiast who visits there has clearly changed. That website, for example, is simply not nearly as sophisticated and educational as in the past. Hopefully a few of those people will someday arrive here.

We can only continue to post here! new [Re: Nev]

Nev, tell your riding buddies and folks at the LBS to visit this site! It is one of the better sites (plus the Serotta forum) for high-quality posts.

My friends on my other bike sites wouldn't fit in.

One group, my local mountain bike buddies, would all be banned in the first day. We have a lovely anything-goes site, with great trash-talking, thread-hijacking fun.

The other is all about Fixed gear bikes. Too many gears and too much carbon and stuff here. We're also all about reusing spokes to build a new wheel, replacing caged with loose bearings, shimming stems with beer cans to fit mismatched bars, rust removal, and so on. Don't think their interest would be held very long. All he bikes here work too well.

Lurk around for yourself. I think you'll find much fun and insight. The off topic threads are getting a little out of hand. But in any case a surprisingly knowledgeable group of people.

Metal removal [Re: Nev]

Just glad to read that nobody took a coarse metal rasp to the chainstay to provide greater clearance!
