I had just heard a few minutes ago that Sheldon Brown has passed away. A memorial service was held for him today. Sheldon had a wealth of knowledge on cycling and one tribute to him said that his website was the most visited cycling website in the world.
Sheldon was very helpful to anyone with a cycling question. I had been exchanging emails with him lately and received an email from him on the day he died.

Darby, I am a newbie to this forum, and I did not know that Sheldon had passed on. I am eternally grateful for all he has given to the cycling world. He was, and will continue to be, a wonderful and knowledgable contributor to the advancement of cycling clay

Hi Clay,
I found out about Sheldon's passing, I believe, from the North American Handmade Bike Show's website. There was a plaque at the show commemorating his passing. This came as a shock to me because I received an email from Sheldon at around 5:30 pm on the day he died.
Sheldon has the most visited cycling website in the world and he has done a great deal to advance cycling in the US and Europe. I hope someone will take on the job of maintaining the website that Sheldon created.
