Carbon Fork Torsional Stiffness ?
#9717 - 05/23/08 05:35 PM (128.193.223.221)

Does anyone have a sense/recommendation of what would be a torsionally stiff 1.125" steer tube, aero-profile carbon fork?

Maybe the the Alpha Q TS-20 compared to the Easton EC90 Aero Road Fork, or other carbon "aero" forks?

I have the Easton EC90 on my TT bike and it seems torsionally flexy when riding. I can visually see what I'm feeling, when on the CompuTrainer. I can noticeably torque (turn) the bars (I see the spacers and top of the head-set turn along with the stem and bars), but the wheel doesn't move as much, I interpret this as torsional flexibility, I do not see a flex in the bar or stem,... vertically everything seems very stiff.

I'm 6'5", 180-220lbs,... ride 99+% of the time in aero, ~375w Functional Threshold, I do all of my climbing in aero also.
