Wetsuit wisdom for my Calfee friends
#993 - 02/04/04 04:15 AM (68.114.137.20)

All of my friends here helped me purchase an amazing bike. See the photo gallary for the picture of the bike. Now comes the wetsuit. I will be doing at least 3 Tri's this year that will be wetsuit races (2 Olympics and 1 Sprint). The water temperature should not be less than 65 degrees in any of the races. I am leaning toward the Promotion sleeveless Glide wetsuit. It seems to be the most reasonably priced suit. Any suggestions?

The sooner I get out of the water the sooner I get on my bike which is the best part anyway.

Thanks,
L

Hi KYCalfee
Cool bike you have ,congrats.
I recommend the Orca "Predator 2" wetsuit or the Orca Speedsuit they are both made of a Neopren that keep your body temp` and make you feel like you are "naked" the water are not stick to your body, those wetsuits are the top of the top wetsuits . you can see more on the Orca site :www.orca.com
Good luck

It's been a few years since I did any tris, however I my personal preference was for a sleeveless suit with as much buoyancy as possible. A lot of people who came to tris through running or cycling have low body fat levels and struggle with the swim because of poor buoyancy.

I almost gave up tris because my swimming was so slow, until I got a good wetsuit - what a revelation! Almost overnight I went from having 75% of the pack in front of me at the end of the swim to having 75% of them behind me.

Make sure you get a specialist tri wetsuit, you won't regret it.
