Sorry to hear that. What I've always recommended people do is put their garage door remote in the back of the car. That way you have to get out of the car to open the garage door and hopefully the bike sitting on the roof will provide a big hint not to drive in.

You don't say if that was your situation, but it's an idea for others too.
