Thanks Bruce. I have been chatting with Craig about the problem and shimming is simply not an option with these cranks since there is no bottom bracket.

Per Craig's advice, let me emphasize that again - per his advice, I used a series of files to shave down some of the carbon material to create some clearance for the rub (This is on my new Bamboo beauty BTW). Maybe 1mm tops. Rub problem solved.

He had certified the frame for 2007 Campy Record and I am using 2008 - though I had read the cranks were unchanged from last year. The main rubbing problem was being caused by the backs of the chainring bolts protruding 1-1.5mm from the inner chainring line. I noticed the other side of the bolts were flush with the chainring so I flipped the bolts around which helped. Its not nearly as pretty, but hey, you gotta do what you have to!
