Thanks for the congrats. Yep thats my plan to take the Luna to the crits and road races and the bamboo on centuries. I might try the bamboo on a crit but I really feel like it may be a bit too flexy for that.
I was very surprised how the bottom bracket area responded to the crit, creaking that way. It was the hardest I had ever stomped the bike and the racket really took me off guard. It wasn't the frame, and there wasn't any flex, but it disturbed me none-the-less.
I rode the Luna last night and couldn't get it to make the noise again but then again I only averaged 18.5 mph not the 25+ like during the race. I'm going to take it my my guy at the shop just to have a well trained eye look it over.
I had as creaking bottom bracket on my Luna but when I switched the parts over to my Tetra, the creaking stopped. I think the creaking was a result of how the bike was assembled. I had a friend help me assemble my Tetra and I think is a better mechanic than the guy at my local bike shop. For example, I use to routinely drop the chain on my Luna which hasn?t happened even once on my Tetra.
My local bike shop told me that the creaking was caused by having had water in the bottom bracket area. Not sure if that is true or not.
