I'm glad I picked up a set recently because these are my favorite levers of all time. To me they feel more solid and provide for more positive shifting than the Record levers of the same year. I haven't tried the 2004 Ultra yet but I have two bikes with 2003 Record. I just like the feeling and looks of the metal Chorus shifters. Aloha, -K Post Extras
