I cerainly hope it's not for weight savings. Total weight savings is 9 grams. It may save you .00000001 seconds. Or you could have a mechanical failure and not finish. Sure it will work for a while in most gear combinations. I could also buy Huffy at TOYS R US and deck it out with campy record. There are many things you can do, but most you shouldn't. No brainer.
