While I'm not a metalurgist, I do have an engineering degree (how this matters, I don't know). Anyway, I doubt that this (added stress risers) is the case. Stress risers would not come from an etching (If this is indeed etched). They may (emphasis on may) come if this is cut with a tool. The only concern would be that the metal is thinned where it needs to be thicker, something I seriously doubt. I didn't add to the discussion on the S forum as I thought they were way to vitriolic about something so mundane. Hell, It's just a way to differentiate your brand. Post Extras
