Just built up my Z3 and it ROCKS like Ronnie James Dio!!! I am up here in MEEEchigan and have only had a chance to take it on one shakedown ride. The bike is sort of unique as to the choice of build. We are working on a TREK concept store right now, so I decided to hang Bontrager parts on it (just to represent, yo). First I will say that the Bontrager XXX lite fork has a great feel. I have been riding an EC90SLX for the last year, and dare I say that I like the Bonty better (feel wise). The other carbon bits are real nice too. The wheelset is the Race X Lite - again, sweet feel. The Bontrager parts don't meet the snob appeal that many euro or Asian/euro parts do, but they really should.
Back to the bike - I have been waiting for my Z3 for some time, and it was worth the wait. The Z3 has a telepathic feel. Even though I was suffering in the winter, the bike felt smooth, snappy and agile. I can't wait until I am in some kind of shape - it should be really fun then. I sell bikes from some of the best manufactures in the world, and the Parlee bikes are above the rest. I think a Seven or Moots or many others are wonderful - but there is something magic about the Parlee bikes. Sounds gushy, but I think Bob and the boys have it DIALED!!!
Let me tell you that Parlee frames are built to the highest standards. I took the pictures for their current catalog and the website on site at Parlee and was amazed at the amount of hand work that goes into one of these machines. I was most impressed as I observed Bob meticulously cutting ONE thread that was a little frayed. It looked like he was performing micro surgery and as I came closer I realized it was A thread that would of laid down when heated anyway. Just goes to show why these frames command the price. They are a truly premium work of bike art. When customers look at a Parlee, even the uneducated sense why the bike is great - just by looking at it. If you are on the fence and anywhere near Michigan, come on up and see me ? I will let you take one out for a test ride. Beware, once you ride it you won?t sleep for a while .
Later, Chad
