I did the 70 mile route. It started in Shandon, Ca and went east on 46 to Bitterwater Rd. From there you climb for 30 miles with 2-6% grades. Trees dotted the landscape along with cattle, buzzards, squirrels,and the occasional horse ranch. If you want a day alone without cars or complications try this route.
