All that being said i'm not having fun anymore. I'm burned out on "racing". I could have purchased a different bike, spent more money but the versatility of this bike is in it's various configurations; from touring to race bike. I stripped down the bike to it's essentials removing the fairing, tail scaffold, bodysock and took a 30 mile ride today...a slow ride and what a joy it was to just relax and look around. It took cycling back to it's basics; no computer, no training log, no competition, wind in my hair, stop and relax by the beach and listen to something besides my heart at 145. The nude bike is a dream to ride. Oh, an interesting note, previously with the fairing and sock folks made the strangest comments; "are you the boy in the bubble" "takes some balls to ride a bike like that" and more that i'll leave to the imagination. Now with the bike bare I get all positive comments; "cool bike" "that's not fair" "now that looks fun."
Good riding to all!

You should have two bikes; one for 'just riding around' and the other to satisfy whatever competitive juices may be flowing that day.
