I've got the DA 10 speed group on a 2004 Seven Odonata frameset. - N o chain rub at all on both the frt chain ring and larger frt ring - Shifting is exceptionally smooth and quiet - I love the extra hand position of the Shimano brake hoods, yes the shape takes some getting used too especially if you have smallish hands. However the shift levers are very, very smooth. - I don't think the Shimano frt Derailleur has any significant advantage over campy.
Previously owned Campy 9sp Chorus, it's performance was spotty including chain rub on frt derailleur and constant shifting adjustments after shifting.
In terms of weight and price I think it's quite a value. Campag Record is lighter but significantly more expensive and they use Carbon on a lot of parts to lighten things up. Dura Ace is lighter than Chorus 10speed and close to Record but Shimano uses all aluminum (more durable, holds up better). Here are my weight calculations based on research into the different groups.
