For most of my life I lived in New Jersey, near the western edge of the state and much of my shopping was in the Lehigh Valley area since it was so close to me. At that time I was a recreational bicycle rider and quite ignorant of the bike picture. I've since moved to California blissfully ignorant of the fact that one of the best custom frame builders in the nation was virtually in my back yard.

I'm a soon-to-be happy owner of a custom Calfee Tetra Pro made to my measurements. I was fitted up by my local bike shop at which I had developed a good working relationship with for over two years. I was fitted by having my body measured and a form filled out when I got my first fitting on a stock Giant bicycle. In the two year period my bike shop guy got to know me and my riding styles and preferences. I estimate I've had over 6 hours of fitting with my bike shop guy before he put the order in for my Calfee.

I suspect and don't know if I will ever find out definately that if I had gone through the same process with Tom I would have the same dimensions and ride characteristics. I'm so enthralled knowing I'm getting a custom-fitted bicycle for the first time in my life. I have learned a lot about how a bicycle must be properly fit to my dimensions. Much of the disatisfaction I've experienced over the years with diferent bikes, in hindsight is all due to improper fit.
