Tom, Let's consider this test marketing to someone who already owns two Spectrums. I'm not a collecter and ride each bike an equal distance each year. The only original part on the 86 steel is the seat post bolt. The only original parts on the 93 super is the seat post bolt and paint job. Most of the new stuff that's not market driven, (that subject could fill a book) is lighter and works better. My Spectrums represent the best materials used by the best craftman, providing the best fit and ride. All that built just for me so my time spent doing my favorite hobby and sport delivers maximum pleasure. No need to add something extra to make the experience better. Each of my bikes has it's own name derived from the presonality it delivers via it's road feel. While retro is great to admire, if it were better people would still be making it that way now. Ya think? Sure the newer lugs require less prep work and fancy cuts do make a frame lustable, but I try to justify the want and need before giving into the emotional. Do you plan to innovate or imitate?
