Crank brothers egg beaters (stainless) (already have)
How come your going with the egg beaters? Have you ridden them on road bikes very long? (Always go with the stainless. The chrome rust.)
Not questioning your logic, but looking for insight. I have egg beaters on all my (and my wife's) mountain bikes. So...I put them on my Litespeed figuring I like them, they're light, and I don't have to get new shoes.
Now I'm thinking I might want to switch to road pedals (new shoe purchase along with it ) only because of the larger platform it offers. I have carbon soles on my shoes so they're pretty damn stiff. But I do notice the smaller platform (or is it my imagination?) of the eggs on the road, never thought about it on dirt. Also, the float's a little more than I want when riding on the road. That bugs me, and to reduce it I'd have to switch the cleats, but then that defeats the whole purpose of having one set of shoes for all my bikes. I'm not about to be swapping cleats every time I ride.
So...er, see see first questions before I rambled. Thanks,
Nev
