I had one of the first-batch blue Luiginos (which I sold for having ordered it too small, those cut away lugs really shortened the headtube) and now have one on order for nearly a year, maybe more. Word reached from a visitor to Dario's shop that mine was in the making but so far, not a peep from the man himself, the dealer, or Gita. Anyway my incoming frame will be painted in the old Legnano colors, Dario having gone to the current Bianchi factory (who now own the old Legnano stuff) to check out the versions of this famous color. This was above and beyond, but typical of Dario who is a thoughtful and gifted builder. The details on my Luigino were wonderful and the new one will have the twin-plate crown and a few other details but size in at about 60cm. I would jump on another if I could find a 60 from the first batch...These are great bikes. My only complaint such as it is is the price, a feature of the Euro/USD exchange. If this weren't a Pegoretti I would never pay the current cost in light of other wonderful lugged steel bikes made in America. It may be that Pegoretti is among the very, very few one man shops in Italy still making custom lugged steel. Fantastic ride, no doubt about it, and a great guy too.
