Oh and by the way, the bikes US Postal ride are not the same that you can buy in the store, if you did look closly at the photos as posted in a leading european cycle magazine, they clearly show that the so called Trek CARBON bikes as used in the mountain stages of the TdF are really ALUMINUM framsets of some sort, disguised to look as carbon.
Your words above tell everyone all they need to know about you. It really makes one wonder.

lets just get something straight in this forum right now,I can afford any bicycle or frameset that any company makes
That is fine with me...I'm happy for you. I'm thrilled you own 4 bikes...oh I do too...just sold the fifth to a friend who wanted a nice bike and didn't have much money. I wanted a "good home" for it. I don't think it matters or anyone on the forum cares how many bikes you or I have or what anyone can afford.

I was therefore not impressed with the trek products, and probably never will be, and now xd outs paint is peeling off his carbon trek as well, and he is NOT pleased. The worst part about this is that the main trek dealer in Miami i checked with, told me that trek will not warranty the cosmetic finish of its oclv frames. I take this is directly referring to paint or clear coating, so that only now leaves the carbon structure of the frameset thats actually covered,oh dont you just like a warranty like that.
My comments were directed at your criticism of Trek's performance and had nothing to do with their finish. If I'm not mistaken few manufacturers warranty the finish. Carbon is notorious for not being the best surface for paint to adhere. Why you went off on that tangent is beyond me.
(I do know Calfee stood behind their finish when I had a problem with a 2 year old Calfee. They even took it to bare carbon so I could change the color of the finish.)
I don't even own a Trek and I don't have any plans to buy one. However to say the newest Trek OCLV frames cannot perform well because you once owned a 5500 is not a valid platform on which to stand. There are way too many people on this forum including Kahuna who would disagree with you. I have heard similar comments in many venues.
Nice to see you back Allan. Your comments seem to promote exchanges on the forum. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
