Before I drop the Turkey on the Barbeque I decided to go on my morning ride with my new Speedplay pedals. My earlier comment about them not being as secure as the Shimano pedals in probably not accurate. I think it is the floaty (is floaty a word?) feeling that makes them feel less secure.
I do agree with Nev that that they are not necessarily easier to get into than other pedals. You still need to hit the pedal with the cleat, but it is easy to just start pedaling and then you can fish for the right spot once you are moving. I had a hard time doing this with Shimanos.
However, I am having one issue with the pedals I would like to resolve. The left foot stays in one place fairly well. The right foot will rotate slightly from side to side as I pedal. There seems to be more resistance against the spring on the left foot. I tightened up the screws on the right shoe but it didn't it change.
