Re: Won't shift after a 2 year break

to anyone with this problem:
every "bike tech" i talked to told me this problem was only fixable with a new set of $200 dollar shifters. i heard this awful news and began to cry on my way home (me being a poor college student that just spent all his money on a new road bike). well i get home and just to try it out i threw some lubricant into the shifter and wouldnt you know it 20 min later it was shifting so beautifully you wouldnt have known it was broken. the problem being that the mechanism inside the shifter sticks after a certain point in time and needs regular lubrication. 20 min and $3 for wd40 at home as apposed to 1.5 days and $200 at bikesource. i hope this works for all of you frustrated shimano owners.
