Big Al Ardizone of roadbikerider.com says to use 0.6mm spacers to run a 10sp crank on a 9sp setup.
Surprisingly, I've set 3 9sp bikes up with 10sp cranks and not run into this issue. 3 different cranks on 3 different bikes
However, I did find that all 3 bikes shifted better (in the front) using a 10sp chain.
