What type of crank arm and bottom bracket are you using? Is the interface between the two a tapered square? Did you grease (or not grease) the interface on both bikes? Were the crank arm bolts torqued (with a torque wrench) properly? Just curious.
The crank is a Campy Chorus Triple with an 111 mm Chorus bottom bracket. When my bike shop assembled the Luna, they did it when I wasn't around so I am not sure what they did.
When the Tetra was put together, I put it together with a friend so the know exactly that was done. The bottom bracket was greased and torqued to the specification in the Barnett Repair Manual.
I suspect the problem was the bike shop. One other time they changed my cassette and didn't tighten the retaining bolt. So, I have started buying my own tools and repair manuals and will learn to fix my own bike. I found I like working on bikes a lot more than cars.
